The Baclayon Church is just six kilometers away from Tagbilaran City, the Capital City of Bohol. It is the second oldest stone church in the Philippines and the oldest one in the Visayas Region. The Church was constructed in 1595 by the Jesuit priests. It is still very much intact and houses important relics and images reminiscent of the historic Roman Catholic religion in the country. . Adjacent to the Church is the Baclayon Museum for which no camera is allowed. Among those displayed in the church museum are crystal chandelier, silver tabernacle, altar with carvings inlaid with gold, life-size statues and more. . In front of the Church is a park where visitors could relax and enjoy the sight of the Church's facade while listening to the sound of the sea splashing on its bay. . Of course before proceeding to my next destination, I offered prayers and give thanks for keeping me safe in my travels and giving me a chance to see how beautiful my country really is.
