It's the 3rd time this month that I have gone to Manila. I have been frequenting the Supreme Court for some official business. This time, I have gone to SC to get a clearance needed for my petitin to obtain notarial commission. As I have finished my task earlier than expected, I have decided to just roam around the Metro.
One of the places we have visited is the Baywalk in Manila Bay, Roxas Boulevard.
One of the places we have visited is the Baywalk in Manila Bay, Roxas Boulevard.
The Manila Baywalk is a two kilometre stretch between the US Embassy and the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) just past the Manila Yacht Club. The Manila Boardwalk or Baywalk follows the Roxas Boulevard and as the name implies is right on Manila Bay.
This area use to only attract the less fortunates in life and on weekends the odd fitness fanatic on their early morning jog, mind you the jog over unkept concrete paths could have been suicidal! But now, it is bustling with commercial establishments and a very large concrete dinosaur.
The Manila Bay Baywalk has been transformed, you would not recognise the area now. It was been treated to a well earned facelift, the crumbling footpaths have been repaved with tiles and smashed lamp posts have been up graded with brightly coloured lamp balls, as you can see in the photo, they run down the Roxas Boulevard side of the baywalk and are in a multitude of different colours, a nice touch. (googled info)
These photos were taken opposite the CCP area where several dining establishments such as Dencio's and Pancake Haus are built.

ReplyDeleteI enjoy baywalk very much especially when i jog in the mornings. I just hope that Mayor elect Alfredo Lim will not stop what Mayor Atienza has done in this part of Manila.
