Road Trip - From Davao City To Lake Sebu

After staying two days in Davao City, we woke up very early because Lake Sebu is a six-hour drive from Davao City. Since it was my first time in Mindanao, I never slept during the entire ride and just enjoyed the roadside view that the trip offered. We have passed sixteen cities/municipalities heading to our destination and let me share these places with you in this blog.




1. Santa Cruz, Davao Del Sur - a first class municipality famous for having Sibulan River (the cleanest river in Davao) and for the Tudaya Falls which is the tallest falls in the Mount Apo Natural Park.

2. Digos City, Davao Del Sur - A city with lots of abaca plantations and with several tourist attractions like Dawis Beach, Virgin Falls, Napan Falls and the Mount Apo Nature Park.

3. Hagonoy, Davao Del Sur - We took our breakfast at a roadside carinderia in this quaint municipality famous for its shoreline mangroves. I ordered the province's specialty Balbacua made from beef (fatty beef, the soup is so thick because of the oil). I couldn't finish the entire meal because I feel that I will have heart attack if I do.

4. Padada, Davao Del Sur - a municipality included in the province's food bowl. Tourists spots include Piape Reef, Piape Hills and Marine Sanctuary.

5. Sulop, Davao Del Sur - As one of the highest point of the province, it is home to Sulop View Deck which overlooks the entire Davao Del Sur.

6. Malongan, Sarangani - a landlocked first class municipality of Sarangani known in the area for sweet and delicious bananas and the productio of copra.

7. General Santos City - The Tuna Capital of the Philippines and the home of Manny Pacquiao. In fact, we passed by Pacquiao's Mansion in the City Proper. It looks bigger in TV. Really. The City also is home to several tourist attractions sich as Queen Tuna Park and beautiful beaches.

8. Polomolok, South Cotabato - If ever given the time in the future, I would definitely want to explore this side of South Cotabato famous for Mount Matutum, Polomolok Caves Dole Pineapple Plantation
and Asparagus Plantation.

9. Tupi, South Cotabato - a quaint town home to Lina Falls.

10. Koronadal City, South Cotabato - also known as Marbel, it is the capital city of South Cotabato and regional center of the SOCCSKSARGEN region. It is famous for the Mambukal Hot Springs Supon Falls and the Sarabia Falls.

11. Tantangan, South Cotabato - a rather sleepy town with very minimal crime rate. Tourists can go to Matimus Falls before proceeding to othe destinations.

12. Tacurong City, Sultan Kudarat - The first and only city in Sulatan Kudarat. It is a mixed Christian and Muslim community where tourists can visit Baras Bird Sanctuary and the New Passi Mountain Range.

13. Isulan, Sultan Kudarat - a first class municipality and the capital municipality of Sultan Kudarat. It houses the majestic Provincial Hall which features a mosque-like facade. It is also known for the Lagandang Hot/Sulphur Spring.

14. Norala, South Cotabato - this municipality is home to Lambusong Falls. We took our lunch at Norala Chicken House and we had Tinila, Chicken Barbeque (inasal), and Chicken Adobo.

15. Sto. Nino, South Cotabato - this city is the rice bowl of the province.

16. Surallah, South Cotabato - a first class Municipality and the hub of marketing and transportation in that part of South Cotabato.

So after almost six hours, two meals and sixteen municipalities/cities, this view will greet you...
