Baguio Botanical Garden

Continuing with the Baguio Tourist Spots series, let me now feature the Baguio Botanical Garden. Located east of Baguio's downtown area, it is one of Baguio's largest park and about the same size as Burnham Park.

Formerly known as the Igorot Garden/Village, the Botanical Garden features native huts typical of the type of Igorot dwellings found in the Cordilleras. It is a nice place to just sit down and relax, take a leisurely stroll along its narrow and winding pathways and also enjoy the landscape where you will find numerous plants and trees. The park also contains numerous statues of Igorots located just about everywhere in the area.

Here are some pics I have taken at the park:

The park ia also a good place to but/bargain for art works and painting of budding artists who are still making a name for themselves. The paintings sold in there are just plain beautiful.

As in any other parks, there are also souvenir shops located therein where you can buy Baguio's famous delicacies and wood works. There are also horses there but these are just for picture-taking. You can ride horses at the nearby Wright Park.

Again, Baguio Botanical park is another nice place to visit when you go up in Baguio.

  11. Thank you for your nice comments on my blog.

I like the photos of the botanical gardens. I'd love to see them in person. . . .We don't really have any here in Nashville, unless you count Opryland Hotel's arboretum.

BTW. . .Love Amazing Race. I didn't realize they had an Asian version.

  20. @ chris - well a garden would suffice. nothing like a stroll in a park full of ornamental and flowering plants.

amazing race asia is on its second season and the contestants are all resisdents of asia. concept is similar with that of the US version.
