Finally, my first Beach of the year and my first time also in Bolinao, Pangasinan.
Famous for great sunsets and rolling breakers, Bolinao has the most enticing beaches in the entire province of Pangasinan. And if you go to Bolinao, the best destination is Patar Beach, a long stretch of narrow sand linking it with barangay Patar.
The best swimming place however is in Patar centre where there is a beautiful White Beach overlooked by the towering Spanish-built Cape Bolinao Lighthouse.
Here are some photos I have taken while walking on the shores of Patar Beach:
Patar Beach' Beautiful Sunset
Sharp Rocks doting the Shoreline
White Sand Beach
Bamboo Hut on a Sandy Shore
Patar Beach' Rocky Side
Patar Beach' Shoreline of Beaches and Rocks
Bolinao is about seven hours away from Manila by bus and maybe lesser if you take private vehicle. The best place to stay in there is in Puerto Del Sol Beach Resort (0920-9507105). Initially, we intended to check-in at Treasure's of Bolinao (02-375-8884) but the place was fully reserved. (The price we pay for not reserving ahead.) However, it was a blessing in disguise since we were referred to a three-room somewhat private beach resort (Rhoda 09157796917) and we had the beach and the place all to ourselves. A deserted, uncrowded beach - just the Beach I like.

part of me is a beach person but most of me is a spring person... the one thing i love about beaches is the beautiful sunset that you'll enjoy along with the sound of the waves.. you just gave me more reasons to ask my friends to invite me there.. haha...
ReplyDeleteyes, the magnificent sunset and the white sand beach of Patar.. thanks for sharing your pics.. one of the best beaches in the phils.. i wanna go there too.. :) nice meeting you, by the way, i'm a friend of redlan... :)
ReplyDeleteI prefer quiet beaches so that I can relax!

It's a calmly place attorney... sana mapuntahan din namin ng anak ko. Thanks po.
ReplyDeleteMaganda ang mga photos na kinuha mo lalo na yung sunset(i really love sunset) unikit mo sa buhangin ang name mo which is unique. keep posting great pics!
ReplyDeleteGive me a beach like that, and you will have a happy man!
ReplyDeleteI could just live there for a week without any complaints. I love the beach. The sand on my feet and the sun shining on my body is priceless.
ReplyDeleteganda nung sunset foto.. galing!
ReplyDeleteFor your first beach of the year, you picked a great one! Love the last pic!! :)
ReplyDelete@ the dong - really depends on the mood. if i want to relax and think, i go to a solitary/deserted beach. if i want fun and some action, then a populated beach is just right. good luck on your cebu trip dom.
ReplyDelete@ cedeux - para ka naman matanda pag magsalita lols. a beach like this is good for retirees, but young persons like you could fid the place oring in the long run.
@ annilei - thanks. descriptions are brief, glad u like it.
ReplyDelete@ dave - ahhh. nothing compared to the tranquility that sunset and waves bring.
@ claire - nice meeting you too and welcome to my humble blog.

My officemates been to Bolinao two weeks ago. I'm choosing Zambales (be there tommorow) over Pangasinan. I'm not just interested with the beaches in the North, except for Pagudpud which i wish to visit someday...
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely place... lawstude..!
ReplyDeleteperfect for a holiday..!!
you are lucky, to have been there..!
Thanks for sharing it..!

Ganda po ng first shot. Sarap maglakad sa beach.
ReplyDeleteThis beach looks virginal. Hehe. Talagang pang getaway, no?
ReplyDeletei'll be in pangasinan by the end of the month and i'm so excited to have your images seen in real! thanks for sharing! ;0)
ReplyDeleteplaces like this prove we're still "tourists" in our own country. marvelous photos...but i like the one with the sand scribbling the most. i've a thing for that whenever i find myself in the beach too.
ReplyDeletep.s. you can change the settings of your comments in your blogger dashboard so that your comments will display with the date they're posted, not just the time as shown above....unless you don't mind. :)
ReplyDeleteHi Norman! Here I am for the weekly visit… ;)
ReplyDeleteBolinao looks gorgeous in your pictures and it seems that luck is just around you: a deserted beach just for you... ;))
Why don't they allow people up the lighthouse; it could make some money to help the maintenance... ;)
Thanks for your comment on Blogtrotter, which has now landed in the imperial town of Marrakesh, the Red City!
Hope you enjoy and have a great week!
Fantastic shots! Great work done.

Taht's some really neat sunset shots on the beach you got in there bro :)
ReplyDeleteI like that scribbles on the sand too :)
Very peaceful and relaxing beach. Wow you claimed the beach by signing your name on the sand....lol. I guess you enjoyed your stay there very much.
ReplyDelete@ tutubi - beautiful beach specially the sunset.
ReplyDelete@ prinsesa - sige ba? saan mo ba gusto?
@ ely - i have been to some beaches in zambales but where i really want to go to there is in anawangin.
ReplyDeletejust been to pagudpud, the place is great and will post pics and stories about the place soon.
@ shades - lucky is an understatement. thanks for the visit.
ReplyDelete@ uno - you can't go wrong with the sunset in bolinao. just fantastic.
@ abaniko - right bro. just throw everything away and enjoy the beach.
ReplyDelete@ iriz - the best beach in pangasinan is definitely in patar, bolinao. the rest fail in comparison.
@ fortuitous faery - so much to explore, so little time.
ReplyDeletei guess the beach brings out the kid in all of us.
thnx for the info.
@ gmg - it is rather unsafe to climb the light house but i learned that the local government there is fixing things up so it can be open again to those who want to see the spectacular view of the sea around it.
ReplyDelete@ alex - thank you for liking it.
@ bw - thank you bro. you'll see more scribbles on my next post about pagudpud.
ReplyDelete@ alicesg - the stay was brief but a very relaxing and refreshing one.

@ aisha - gee thanks.
ReplyDelete@ ifoundme - you still have at least a month for summer. go na.
my mountaineering (and beach-ineering) group had a memorable time here in patar about 2 years ago. it was a nice stay but those pitching their tents on the beach beware, my companions were robbed in the middle of the night.
ReplyDeletethese are lovely shots of Bolinao. i remember the tranquil white sand beach, the old church, and the very longggggg trip from manila!:D
ReplyDelete@ lagalog - buti na lang well secured kami sa pinag-stayan namin. Yan talaga hirap sa pagtratravel eh, di mo kilala mga taong madadatnan mo.
ReplyDelete@ luna miranda -almost six hours yun, but my longest trip so far has got to be the 12 hours pagudpud trip.
ReplyDeletefor those looking for affordable accomodation around Patar Beach, ping this number Beeboy 09204526157.
ReplyDeleteIn our case, I initially thought about Rock Garden Resort which had the least expensive accomodation. Unfortunately, when we got there, all their cost friendly rooms are fully booked. We ended up knocking each available resort. Fortunately, we got an absolutely perfect rate from this very kind and accomodating resort….to the extent that I promised him i’ll post his number on the blogs to payback the discounts.
…prices are quite negotiable…i mean it.
—by the way, if ever you’ll call him, kindly inform him you got the number from a post by Ian on the internet (that guy who promised you to post your number); Just so he knows i didn’t break my promise cause I told him to give me the same rate when I come back, which i’ll surely do.
they can arrange everything else for you at reasonable rates including transport, food, utensils, and you can request to try their coco harvests.
here's our itinerary for our bolinao trip by the way...
ReplyDeletewe spent only a total of P6000 for all 5 of us...
