Hundred Islands Hideaway

There are One Hundred Twenty Three Islands in the Hundred Islands but only three have been developed for tourists. These are Governor's, Quezon and Children's Islands which were previously featured in this blog. In fact, if you rent a boat, the boatman will most likely land you at these three islands.

While some islands are undockable because of very sharp edges or there simply is no sand to dock on, still this should not prevent you to go near and wander at these amazing islands.

Not all the 123 islands have names, some even have two names depending on the description of the boatman. Other than the Governor's, Quezon and Children's Islands, you can ask your boatman to tour you other islands such as Papaya Island (named after a tourist with bountiful breast who frequent the islet), Old Scout Island (which offers a fine beach perfect for just a small group)and Romulo Island (where Claudine Barretto' Marina was shot).

Then, there's Devil's Island (because they say its inhabited by sharks), Cathedral Island (named because it has rock formations resembling benches of Cathedral), Rated K Island (named after Korina's show was shot there) and Marcos Island (named after the dictator).

On our end, we found solace and bathe at the Martha's Island. This island has only a very narrow strip of fine white sand but the water here is very clear and since it is located between two island, the water here is very calm. And how is this for a description - Martha's Island resembles a lady's bosom.

So, if you want crowd, you can dock, eat and bathe at the 3 developed islands of the park but if you want tranquility, peace and quiet, then there is definitely one island that fits you. Whatever it is you want, you can find a hideaway at the Hundred Islands.

By the way, since some Islands there are unnamed, and if an island is to be honored after you, what would you name that island?

  33. I really enjoyed the photos you posted. I couldn’t say which one I like the most because I like them all very much. I tried to imagine myself swimming in the crystal clear water, walking around and along the beaches and enjoying the natural beauty of islands. I can tell you it was great feeling. So, one of them I would name as “Island of dreams”. :-)
