Puka Beach, Boracay

Puka Beach is the second longest beach in Boracay and it covers half of the island's northern tip. The sand here is more silica and a little more grainy. The mild, gentle waves lapping the beach provide a pleasant background noise common to islands fringed with coral reefs.

The beach itself is 800 meters long and named after Puka Shells. These are small shells and tiny, white coral pieces prized for making bracelets and necklaces. Many experts regard these shells as one of the world's finest.
Here are some of my shots taken at Puka Beach - an intoxicating mix of sun, sand and nonsobriety:

Drift Woods Planted on the Beach

From Drifts to Prominence

Pure Shores

A Make-Shift Bench

A Complimentary Greens

Don't You Just Want to Walk There?

Mixture of Puka Shells, White Stones and Broken Corals

There are various ways of reaching Puka Beach. You may either hire a tricycle from the Island Proper and it will take you about 30 minutes to reach the beach. You can also rent ATV, motorbikes or bicycles and just drove your way to the northers part of the island. However, To fully appreciate the magnificent scenery, you can take a motorized outrigger trip that will bring you to the shores of the beach.

  3. Uyyy! nagpunta ka pala ng Carabao Island sa Romblon. I heard nga na it would be the next Boracay in the years to come. I'm curious to see it kse ganyan daw ang Bora dati nung mga 1980s. I really love to go there dati dati pa pero parating nauudlot. May I know how you get there & how much you spent for the trip? Dati kse yung mga island tours di kasama ang Carabao Island.

  11. @ ar-wee-der-yet - i feel the same way carlo kaya i started the still pics series with this beach.

maganda ang carabao island lalo na yung beach nila kasi parang white beach din.

nag-hire ako ng boat costing Php2,500 for the whole day na yun and kasama na yung tour around the shores and beaches of the island. then pag nasa island ka na in san jose naghire ako ng motorcycle for Php 300 para magpunta sa highest point nila called Tagaytay.
