Our boat touched the powder white sand of Inubahan Beach in a very clear and blue sky. But just about half an hour before that, I have experienced one of the most turbulent boat ride I ever had wherein the promised 45 minute ride from Boracay to Carabao Island turned out to be a two-hour joy-ride amidst the wavy sea. I must admit, I am a bit worried specially that this trip wasn't planned at all.I am beginning to shoot some landscape in the beach when the sky suddenly turned from clear blue to gloomy gray and to top it all, the waters either from the rain or the sea seemed to have gotten on the auto-switch of my camera that the "TV" and the "AV" mode do not seem to work.
Although this wasn't planned and it seem that this is not going to be a typical sun-basking day in Carabao Island, it still would've been a damper to have the weather interfere with my day in Carabao Island. As I always do, you just have to make the most of every situation but with caution. So here are some of the shots I have taken on my first few hours in the place:
Carabao Island is also known as the town of San Jose. It is said to have the most beautiful beaches in all of Romblon. Inubahan Beach is one of its more popular beach and the most accessible because of the construction of a boat dock. It is just a short boat ride away from Boracay Island, and a perfect alternative to the party scene in Boracay. It is said to be a vacation spot within a vacation and tauted as the next Boracay because it is like Boracay during the eighties-the same powdery sand, crystalline water, and the same laid-back vibe.
Currently, there are plans of constructing an airport on a consortium by the Local Government of Romblon and Boracay Property Holdings. The plan is to build the airport on the northern part of Carabao Island, but there was no assurance yet if the project would start very soon.

ReplyDeletebeen on that place several years back. the beach is really nice. hanggang ten pm lang ata ang power. life is slow there which is just great. since konti lang pwede gawin after the sun sets, we just played billiard, videoke and beer.

ReplyDeleteganda nga din talaga ang beach ng carabao island. it's similar to bantayan island but this one is more laid back. i went to romblon during the mid 80s and experienced a wavy ride too. we went to sibuyan island but never heard of carabao island during that time.

hmmmm...looks like Bora is getting too crowded. I heard that they are now looking for the possibility of developing some portions of the island as it is equally charming.....I remember when we were in Puka Beach last February, Carabao Island's beaches are also glowing in the summer sand....

@ pusang gala - we went to tagaytay combot (more on this soon) and we had an amazing view of the puka beach from there. the sand in the puka beach is literally glistening. ang ganda.
