I am beginning to shoot some landscape in the beach when the sky suddenly turned from clear blue to gloomy gray and to top it all, the waters either from the rain or the sea seemed to have gotten on the auto-switch of my camera that the "TV" and the "AV" mode do not seem to work.
Although this wasn't planned and it seem that this is not going to be a typical sun-basking day in Carabao Island, it still would've been a damper to have the weather interfere with my day in Carabao Island. As I always do, you just have to make the most of every situation but with caution. So here are some of the shots I have taken on my first few hours in the place:
Carabao Island is also known as the town of San Jose. It is said to have the most beautiful beaches in all of Romblon. Inubahan Beach is one of its more popular beach and the most accessible because of the construction of a boat dock. It is just a short boat ride away from Boracay Island, and a perfect alternative to the party scene in Boracay. It is said to be a vacation spot within a vacation and tauted as the next Boracay because it is like Boracay during the eighties-the same powdery sand, crystalline water, and the same laid-back vibe.
Currently, there are plans of constructing an airport on a consortium by the Local Government of Romblon and Boracay Property Holdings. The plan is to build the airport on the northern part of Carabao Island, but there was no assurance yet if the project would start very soon.
More of this island on my next posts.
ReplyDeletebeen on that place several years back. the beach is really nice. hanggang ten pm lang ata ang power. life is slow there which is just great. since konti lang pwede gawin after the sun sets, we just played billiard, videoke and beer.
ReplyDeleteyes sometimes the boat ride is kind of rough, i remembered puking he he.
Another beautiful island
ReplyDeleteI want to get here as a side trip when I get back to Bora. How much did you pay for the boat ride to reach this island?
ReplyDeleteganda nga din talaga ang beach ng carabao island. it's similar to bantayan island but this one is more laid back. i went to romblon during the mid 80s and experienced a wavy ride too. we went to sibuyan island but never heard of carabao island during that time.
ReplyDeleteang pinakaimportanteng tanong. aling alon ang malaki, nung pumunta tayo ng capones o eto? hehehe... inaabangan ko pa ang ibang kuha mo sa island nung nakita ko last time sa laptop mo.
hehe napadaan lng pare..
ReplyDeletehindi ka dayuhan sa sarili mong bayan. (lalim!)
keep it up!
ReplyDeleteOK that's it. I'm sneaking inside of your suitcase. Gorgeous shots. Always.
ReplyDeleteI can't say it enough. I love your photos. This has got to be the most beautiful place in the world. If it's not, your photos sure make it look that way.
ReplyDeleteWow. I'd love to visit one day.
I canNOT pass up your photos - I love tropical scenes - the color of the water is totally completely captivating!!! I love it!
ReplyDeletethis could be the old Boracay. an airport in carabao island will be good for the place...sana nga matutuloy. the beach looks inviting.
ReplyDeleteA truly amazing place!
ReplyDeleteBesides the airport they need some artista and beautiful babes to go there and promote the place...
ReplyDeletePeople don't go to Boracay for the beach alone... they go there to party, to see and be seen....
ReplyDeletevery inspiring pictures. hay, ganda talaga ng pinas.
ReplyDeletemay i ask your cam's model? salamat!
hmmmm...looks like Bora is getting too crowded. I heard that they are now looking for the possibility of developing some portions of the island as it is equally charming.....I remember when we were in Puka Beach last February, Carabao Island's beaches are also glowing in the summer sand....
ReplyDeleteYour flower shot is lovely. ;)
ReplyDeleteLS: You hooked me with the first photo with all the blues in the crystal clear water. Thanks for this trip to paradise.
ReplyDeleteI guess there is no way of hiding this to tourists anymore. So regarding your question if this would be the next bora, I think it may be. It's certainly have the beaches, nature at its best and a feel of away from civilization.
ReplyDeleteLovely post,always.
Hi!
ReplyDeletePart of the island hopping yung place?
Parang di kame nakapunta dito ah. Good for you!
ReplyDelete@ borneo falcon - it is a beautiful island. thanks for the visit.
ReplyDelete@ sheng - we paid 1,500 for the boat and another 300 for the motorcycle ride around carabao island.
ReplyDelete@ the dong - right bro, this place is more laid back.
ReplyDelete@ kegler747 - i know bro. you need to alot your whole day if you want to tour it from bora.
ReplyDelete@ hilary - lol. thanks always.
ReplyDelete@ 2sweetnsaxy - i believe it has its laid-back charm especially if you are used to seeing tall buildings and traffic and urban life. a trip here will definitely refresh you.
ReplyDelete@ ms hays - thanks. the crystal blue water is just so inviting that i have to take a dip even for just a while.
ReplyDelete@ luna miranda - marami nga nagsasabi nyan kasi boracay has turned out to be a party place and quite congested so this island could be the next big thing.
ReplyDelete@ luke wiley - it is and welcome back.
ReplyDelete@ sidney - i agree. boracay has become synonymous with parties, so if you are looking for a more laid-back scene, then this place is definitely for you.
@ carlotta - yan din ang gusto ko eh kasi i think boracay will forever be boracay the party place. sana itong carabao will be much simpler.
ReplyDelete@ anonymous - ganda talaga at marami masarap puntahan.
ReplyDeletemy point and shoot is canon ixus75 while my dslr is canon eos 400d.
@ pusang gala - we went to tagaytay combot (more on this soon) and we had an amazing view of the puka beach from there. the sand in the puka beach is literally glistening. ang ganda.
ReplyDelete@ share my point of view - thanks. i used a zoom lens to have a long range effect.
ReplyDelete@ fishing guy - the sea that very minute is so calm then just after few more minutes, it is wavy again. thanks.
ReplyDelete@ photo cache - thanks. some says it will be the next big thing in the philippines and i guess they may be right.
ReplyDelete@ chyng - hello. it is not really part of any island hopping package but a destination all its own. i guess the best time to go there is summer where the sea ain't that too wavy.
ReplyDeleteThe place is just so relaxing. Thank you for sharing these.
ReplyDeletecomposition of the first image is right on the money. galing bro!
ReplyDeleteI love the blue sea ... Nerve calming.
ReplyDeletegreat beach! sana maalagaan. nway nyero, EB naman diyan! i will be here til first week jan.

ReplyDeletewhat such clean, blue waters ! Nice pics bro. Didn't Romblon had such pretty beaches :)
ReplyDeletewhat a great find... :)
ReplyDelete@ vinzent - you are very much welcome bro. thanks.
ReplyDelete@ allan barredo - salamat bro, maganda yung araw ng time na yun. after few minutes dumilim na langit.

"this land is mine... God gave this land to me..."
ReplyDelete@ bwzone - thanks bro. romblon has this beach to offer.
ReplyDelete@ mikky - indeed. welcome to my blog.
