Dupinga River is probably the most famous tourist spot of Gabaldon, Nueva Ecija. It is an essential part of life for both the Dumagats who live in the Sierra Madre Mountains or the local residents of Gabaldon and its surrounding municipalities. A part of the river just under the concrete bridge of a highway was developed into a picnic grove where several huts that include tables and karaoke machines are available for rent.Currently, the river is most suited for swimming but there are also some parts of it that has strong rapids that if further developed could be a perfect place for adventure activities like water rafting, tubing and the likes.
It rained the day before we got here so the river is quite strong that some huts in the adjacent shore were submerged in water. Further, the high level of the river prevented us from going into a waterfall that was previously included in our itinerary. Here are some shots of the river I have taken in this trip with Dong Ho and Orlan.
Gabaldon is the easternmost town of Nueva Ecija and borders Dingalan in Aurora. Known previously as Sabani, this town is tucked in Sierra Madre Mountain range so expect a cool weather and a beautiful mountain landscape throughout the area. There is only one highway passing through this town coming from Laur, Nueva Ecija and ending in Dingalan, Aurora. There are daily trips here to and fro Cabanatuan City.

ReplyDeleteThe scenery is beautiful byt the river rapid looked so fierce. It is scary to be in the picnic hut at the wrong time. Maybe they should built the picnic hut on higher ground.

ReplyDeleteThe rapids reminded of Cagayan De Oro River used for White Water rafting. Pwedeng-pwede maging eco-tourism ang lugar na yan.

ReplyDeleteYes, the river does look like it might be used for white water rafting...but is that because of the recent rain? Too bad you couldn't see the falls! I'd have been very disappointed.

Love those shots. I'd have to drive for many hours or fly north to find a river with rapids like that. All the ones here in Florida are pretty tame and slow moving due to the mainly flat terrain. I do love a rocky, fast moving creek or river. It is one of my main reasons for visiting north Georgia, the Carolinas, Tennessee, etc.

ReplyDeleteHadn't you tried taking photos of those water current using slow shutter speeds? Try it and it will look like a painting. You may use tripod for such technique...

ReplyDeletemaganda jan sa dupinga kung konti lang ang mga tao, pag summer kse marami nagpuputa jan parang divisoria ang mga tao jan pag summer dami pa lasing, ang parking pahirapan pa lalo na pag pauwi kna natabunan na ng mga sasakyan ung pinarkingan mo, tapos isa2 mo hahanapin mga me ari ng sasakyan pra makalabas kana, kya magandacguro mgapunta, jan kung di summer.....
