Dupinga River is probably the most famous tourist spot of Gabaldon, Nueva Ecija. It is an essential part of life for both the Dumagats who live in the Sierra Madre Mountains or the local residents of Gabaldon and its surrounding municipalities. A part of the river just under the concrete bridge of a highway was developed into a picnic grove where several huts that include tables and karaoke machines are available for rent.
Currently, the river is most suited for swimming but there are also some parts of it that has strong rapids that if further developed could be a perfect place for adventure activities like water rafting, tubing and the likes.
It rained the day before we got here so the river is quite strong that some huts in the adjacent shore were submerged in water. Further, the high level of the river prevented us from going into a waterfall that was previously included in our itinerary. Here are some shots of the river I have taken in this trip with Dong Ho and Orlan.

Gabaldon is the easternmost town of Nueva Ecija and borders Dingalan in Aurora. Known previously as Sabani, this town is tucked in Sierra Madre Mountain range so expect a cool weather and a beautiful mountain landscape throughout the area. There is only one highway passing through this town coming from Laur, Nueva Ecija and ending in Dingalan, Aurora. There are daily trips here to and fro Cabanatuan City.

ReplyDeleteThe scenery is beautiful byt the river rapid looked so fierce. It is scary to be in the picnic hut at the wrong time. Maybe they should built the picnic hut on higher ground.
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures of the river. No doubt that someday soon, this will be a popular tourist site if it's not so already. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteMukhang ang lamig ng tubig. Safe ba paliguan yan?
ReplyDeleteLakas ng alon ah? Is this normal or it's just for the rainy season?
ReplyDeleteThat's some beautiful water. What a beautiful place.
ReplyDeleteSana sa last picture mo humarap ka ng konti sa right. Para nakita namin kahit half ng face mo. Haha.
ReplyDeleteNakakatakot yung river. Parang madudurog ang katawan mo in 3 seconds kapag nahulog ka. At panalo ang cottege for rent ha! Hahaha.
Absolutely beautiful shots, visiting your blog never disappoints.
ReplyDeleteCheers!

How I wish I can see this place, too. Very pretty talaga ang Pinas!
ReplyDeleteHave a look at my world here.
I feel refreshed reading this post and seeing the rapids, very nice water!
ReplyDeleteThe river rapids are beautiful to watch, but I sure wouldn't want to get caught in the current. Great photos. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteVery cool. Looks like those would be some wild rapids to navigate.
ReplyDeleteGreat shot as always. I could almost feel the coldness of the water.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wild beauty in the place. It looks like a wonderful place to visit. Nice pictures.
ReplyDeleteDid you swim? ;-)
ReplyDeleteThe rapids reminded of Cagayan De Oro River used for White Water rafting. Pwedeng-pwede maging eco-tourism ang lugar na yan.
ReplyDeletethe second photo is absolutely gorgeous! it would be wonderful to have lunch in those huts, while your feet are submerged in water.:D
ReplyDeletegrabeh ang current ng tubig. kahit pic lang parang naanod na ako. hehe
ReplyDeleteYes, the river does look like it might be used for white water rafting...but is that because of the recent rain? Too bad you couldn't see the falls! I'd have been very disappointed.
ReplyDeleteIt's a beautiful spot, worthy of visiting.
I can understand that you love this place.Thank you for the tour!
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures of a dramatically swollen, rushing river. It actually looks quite dangerous.
ReplyDeleteI love photographing water, especially rapids like this. Beautiful watery world.

ReplyDeleteang ganda ng rapids. kainggit.
Wow! I never get over how beautiful everything is here. This would have been a good entry for Watery Wednesday.
ReplyDelete:-)
Love those shots. I'd have to drive for many hours or fly north to find a river with rapids like that. All the ones here in Florida are pretty tame and slow moving due to the mainly flat terrain. I do love a rocky, fast moving creek or river. It is one of my main reasons for visiting north Georgia, the Carolinas, Tennessee, etc.
ReplyDeletebeautiful shots!! pero, parang nakakatakot at baka biglang may flashflood. I like the one with the mountains as the backdrop.
ReplyDeleteWater rafting?
ReplyDeleteI love those water current photos!
ReplyDeleteHadn't you tried taking photos of those water current using slow shutter speeds? Try it and it will look like a painting. You may use tripod for such technique...
I'm from Gabaldon, Nueva Ecija...thank you very much for posting those amazing pictures of Dupinga River which is the most popular place for family picnic during summer....it made me feel more homesick.
ReplyDeleteVery nice photos of Dupinga River! I love white water rafting and I think it’s not that hard to develop that River for that sports. Just a little alteration then it will be a perfect spot for people who love rafting.
ReplyDeleteIs dupinga river still one of the best places in Nueva Ecija ? I mean, people still visit there till now ?
