Security services are essential in the proper staging of festivals such as the Panagbenga Festival of Baguio City. With them around, the spectators feel more secure and we can be assured of proper order in the festivities.
But this year, the Philippine National Police decided to not just secure the place but join the parade as well. Their float coupled with full-uniformed personnel surely wowed the crowd. Let me just share these:
The PNP Float
Uniform with a Twist
"I'm Here To Keep The Peace"
Turn Around Bright Eyes
Men and Women of PNP
To Serve and To Protect

Hahaha.
ReplyDeleteparekoy, kakaaliw yung pulis na nakabahag. at least proud sila sa tradisyon nila
ReplyDeleteThe uniform is hilarious!
ReplyDeleteTraditional vs modern attire & look interesting.
ReplyDeleteHoly cow! Ehehehe.
ReplyDeletewow asteeeg ang pulis!!! sana ganyan lagi araw araw para di mainit ulo nila.
ReplyDeleteInteresting to see he police combining the old look with the new. Seems fitting for a festival. ;-)
ReplyDeletewow! i'm so proud of our country's police ASSets. hehe. jk...it's good to see the police joining the parade. :)
ReplyDeleteSexy uniform they wearing there :)
ReplyDeletehahaha... bawal sa manila yan.
ReplyDeleteLS: Sorry I've been away, just trying to recover from the operstion. That was an interesting outfit in the parade.
ReplyDeleteI love how colorful these are. That's got to be one of the most interesting uniforms I've ever seen but I like how they incorporated modern with custom. The good thing is you can tell that guy was not skin and bones and you might think twice about messing with him. :-)
ReplyDeleteThe uniform is so cool!
ReplyDeleteLOL on the bahag. cute naman ng uni nila. buti na lang at game na game naman sila.
ReplyDeletewhoooa! never seen pinoy cops in igorot apparel! very nice. if scottish men wear kilts, our own igorots wear these! :)
ReplyDeleteSurprising uniforms! Very colorful!
ReplyDeleteWow! That's a cool uniform! Haha!
ReplyDeleteOoops. What can I say? The uniform is quite funny.
ReplyDeleteThat's quite a uniform! But hey, it sure does look good in the male police officer!
ReplyDelete:D
Hmmm, that dude has nice legs. Ehehehe.
ReplyDeleteYou don't see many of that around lol. Really a stud of a police officer.
ReplyDeletehahaha..ang kinis ng pwet ng legs ni mamang pulis ha..
ReplyDeletepaano kaya kung biglang may holdaper?? makakatakbo kaya sila na nakabahag?? hehe
this is a very nice way of reaching out to the culture of our brothers and sisters up north. Way to go PNP!
ReplyDeleteI have heard of this Pulis Bahag in the news. I think they will be prominent fixtures in tourist spots of Baguio, Sagada and the mountain areas.
ReplyDeletei like the colors of your photos! very eyecatching! :)
ReplyDeleteit's just very unfortunate that of all people, it is our FELLOW Filipinos who will call the costume of our Baguio-Benguet-Cordillera kababayans as "funny" and "hilarious". They might have forgotten that the Panagbenga is, among others,a celebration of the culture of this place. Culture necessarily includes instilling and reinforcing IDENTITY and PRIDE. Those who were wondering how our police officers will run after criminals wearing them just totally miss the point. These strong visual points and the strategy of fusing them with the modern and regular work uniform is what pride, identity and culture in that context is all about. You are joining the past (which should not remain there at all) and the present - which is moving forward without forgetting who you are and where you came from. No wonder, we can't seem to move forward because we cannot even be proud of what we have and who we are.
ReplyDeleteheehhee
