Every festival is not complete without Street Dancing. In fact, it has become a festival essential and highlights every event from the Sinulog of Cebu and the Ati-atihan of Aklan in the Visayas to the Kadayawan of Davao and Kasadya of Iligan in Mindanao.
In Luzon, almost every province have their own festival which feature street dancing but undoubtedly, one of the best street dancing happens in Panagbenga or Flower Festival of Baguio City. Street dancing is not all about revelry and merry-making but a tribute and thanks-giving to God and His Saints for several reasons such as a bounty harvest, a good weather or a healthy life.
This year, I was fortunate to witness the Street Dancing Parade of the Panagbenga Festival and let me share to you, thru this post, the Group which received the most applause from the crowd because of their impressive presentation. They have elaborate costumes and amazing choreography and if I am not mistaken, they have easily won the street dancing competition this year. Here are the pics:
Colorful Costumes
Amazing Choreography
Group of People Dancing in Unison
A Real Crowd Drawer
Elaborate Details to Please The Audience
Still Smiling Amidst the Heavy Attires and Stuff
Very Well Done

wow mga banga :-)
ReplyDeleteat talagang naka-project sila kahit mukang heavy, no wonder nanalo sila sa category!
ang gaganda ng mga costumes! kinda refreshing to see greens among the usual brighter colors :)
ReplyDeleteang galing ng set na to. akala ko sa sinulog. para kasing lumad basakanon yung costumes. more more more!
ReplyDeletesana maging kasing nice din ng kulay ng mga damit nila ang Baguio when it comes to people and discipline, para lalo pang ma preserve ang kagandahang natitira.
ReplyDeleteGreat costumes — very creative! :-)
ReplyDeletewow! ganda ng pics. di ko pa naexperiece ang panagbenga. sana next year mapanood ko na. looking forward to reading more of your panagbenga posts.
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures Atty. Oman... Will add you to my blogroll...
ReplyDeleteWill visit here often too...
asan na strawberry ko? :D
ReplyDeleteBut Good day to you!
Beautiful girls too... ;-)
ReplyDeleteYou captured it very well which must have been quite a challenge with all the people and the harsh sun.
Wonderful !
