I always wonder why they name this island after the children. The best answer I got is that the beach of this island is so shallow that it serves as a safe playground for the children to swim. I do agree. In fact, one can even go by foot from this island to a small islet just in front of it. The sand here is so fine and the waters so clear even if you wade just a little too far from the island.
Children's Island is one of the three main islands of the Hundred Islands in Pangasinan and surely one of the most developed. There are few picnic huts in there and they are currently building a function room or a small house for those who want to stay there.
Here are few shots I have taken at my return to the Children's Island:

ReplyDeleteThe islet looks adorable. I'm thinking, dapat yun yung tinawag nilang children's island. It's so small. Ehehe.
ReplyDeleteAng ganda ganda naman talaga ng 100 hundred islands, lalo na ang mga kuha mo.
ReplyDeleteThe weather seem so fine. When did you took these? Di ba maulan na?
ReplyDeleteHi Norman! 08.08 always deserves a bit of champagne; at least for those who got married some 34 years ago. We just had a bit of Veuve Clicquot... ;))
ReplyDeleteYou have to make an itinerary for my travel in the Philippines... ;)
Blogtrotter is now showing that Reykjavik is not entirely grey... ;)). Enjoy and have a fabulous weekend!

ReplyDeleteCertainly looks like a place children (and adults) would like to play and explore.
ReplyDeleteThat's one crazy island. It seems improbably difficult to dock a boat there.
ReplyDeleteLooking at those islands, I remember Charlene Gonzales....

Too colorful handrails! I guess they painted it as such to alert the visually-challenged of what lies beyond or perhaps to help identify its name with kids?
ReplyDeleteHmmmn... I wonder how many times ka na kaya pumunta dito. Ako, hindi pa nakarating sa lugar na ito. The shallow depth of water fits me well kasi hindi ako marunong lumangoy, Hahaha...
ReplyDeleteNice set of photos as always. My favorites are the fourth and the seventh. Typical of my composition style ;)
