As the day near its end, and after spending some time at CWC, we decided to pay visit to Pili Church which is just a few minutes drive away from CWC. Officially called the Church of the Parish of St. Raphael the Archangel, this Church looks so beautiful in a dusky setting.The combination of stone bricks and white painted columns which covered the entirety of the church and its belfry made this church somewhat modernly unique. Even its polished wooden door added elegance to the holy structure. Too bad, the Church was closed and we tried to find our way around it trying to ask people around if we can enter the Church but it seems that no one is inside the church and no one knows where we can get permission. Anyway, we just content ourselves wih taking photos of the facade and the grounds. Maybe next time we could go in. Here are some shots:
How to go there? Pili is the capital of Camarines Sur and it is where the airport is located. By air, it is just an hour away from Manila. By land, aircon buses usually depart in Cubao to Pili and cost from Php 600 to Php 850 depending on the type of bus you are going to take. Ordinary buses cost from Php 400 to Php 450. Alternatively, you can take the buses going to Legazpi, Daraga, Tabaco or Sorsogon because they will pass by Pili.
the tiled stone facade is beautiful. although this church doesn't look old, it's reminiscent of the old fortresses. terrific shots.

ReplyDeleteim biased when it comes to old churches. gusto ko yung mukha talagang nilulumot na.
Isa lang ang ibig ipahiwatig ng church sau atty. wala kang dalang bride kaya no means na mabuksan. jokes. kaya next time magdala ka na ng bride to be. Unique yung structure niya, modern ang dating.

the churches in the phil are very interesting in their designs. i wished you found it open so you can see and we can see the interiors.
