It has always been our family tradition to prepare 12 round fruits for media noche. It is believed that these 12 round fruits will bring good fortune all year round.
Our 12 round fruits this time consist of watermelon, grapes, green apple, chico, sunkist, pear, chinese suha, dalanghita, red apple, melon, longgan and ponkan. Every year, my dear Nanay used to prepare this round fruits and place them in a basket.
Some might raised doubt on the connection between 12 fruits and fortune but one thing for sure, these 12 fruits remind us of our mom and we feel that she is celebrating new year with us even though she is miles away.
And may the 12 round fruits bring you and your family a very Happy New Year filled with much love, laughter, good fortune and great photo ops!!! You are such a gifted photographer and being able to view your photos is always a pleasure!
