Coron: Santino's Grill

Ask any traveler in Coron where is the best place to dine and almost simultaneously, they will say Santino's Grill. Therefore, I wasted no time checking-out the place to see what the fuzz is all about.

House Specialty - Baby Back Ribs

Santino's Grill is located quite far from the main square and you need a five to ten minute tricycle ride to go there. The place is cozy as it has your typical nipa hut as setting, complete with native decors that envelope the place. You'll be greeted by their courteous crew upon entering.

Of course, there are positive and negative things about the place. On the positive side, the food tastes great. I love their baby back ribs and its melt-in-your-mouth goodness. The chili crabs and garlic prawns are also very delectable that we emptied the serving plates to their last sauce.

 

Coron's Pride

Al Fresco

On the negative side, the service was a bit slow that you have to wait for almost an hour for your orders to be served. Also, it is al fresco so expect some flies and mosquitoes to visit you. Also, if you are a beer drinker, you are allowed to drink only a couple of beers (well ok, the waiter said four at most). The food is also quite pricey compared to other restaurants.

For me, great tasting food far outweighs its negative side so I will always come back to Santino's Grill.
