Bicol's Laing Pizza |
Think of a fusion between a popular and well-loved Italian gastrononomical delight and a favorite Bicol dish and what have you got? "Laing Pizza".
Laing is a famous spicy dish that originated in Bicol. It is made from dried Taro leaves cooked in coconut milk mixed with some pork, fish, and/or shrimp. And of course it has loads of chili pepper because Bicolano's love their food spicy and hot.
Now, put all of that ingredients in a crunchy, thin crust dough and top it with generous mozzarella cheese and bake it to perfection and you will have Bicol's Laing Pizza. Or, to avoid any hustle, you can just order one from specialty cafes and restaurants in Bicol like what I did when I was in CWC Clubhouse of Camarines Sur. Bon Appetit!
Ah, looks delicious, Oman!! I haven't had breakfast, so it looks even better!! Fun post for the day! Hope you have a wonderful weekend! Enjoy!

Thanks Mersad, match this with spicy chicken wings and some mashed potatoes and it'll be a filling dinner :)
DeleteMy kumpare who is a certified Bicolano always treats us with his hometown and popular dish of laing. His is so tasty and succulent not because I'm his kumpare, but because everybody says so. The fusion of pizza and laing has yet to land my mouth. So for now, all I can say is - the combo is quite impressive. I just don't know if the actual would please me - coming from someone who is not really a die hard fan of pizza. I mostly eat pizza if it's from Pizza Co. though I've tried other pizzas as well from different Pizza stores, but Pizza Co just knock me off -taste wise.
ReplyDeleteI dig bicol express but not really laing. Although I try it sometimes just for taste. But this Pizza since it has cheese in it balanced the full taste of laing so it is alright :)
DeleteIn my case, I'm moderate when "anghang" is at stake. I really am not a fan of a very maanghang na food. Though, kaya ko naman ang iba because the spiciness is tolerable. hehe
DeleteI need to try this one :)
ReplyDeleteYup, nice to try for the taste of it Reydan :)
