RV is one of the best story-tellers out there. His blog, Looney Planet, chronicles his travel adventures and misadventures within the Philippines and around the world. He has the gab of making you feel that you are part of his journey... to be constantly amazed at his new experiences, to learn about new culture, to laugh at his antics and to hold your breath on his misadventures.
His D-I-Y and tips featured on his blog are great help for those who plan to venture in a new place.
He can sum-up all his travel philosophy by this quotes... "I have come to accept the feeling of not knowing where I am going. And I have trained myself to love it. Because it is only when we are suspended in mid-air with no landing in sight, that we force our wings to unravel and alas begin our flight.
And as we fly, we still may not know where we are going to. But the miracle is in the unfolding of the wings. You may not know where you're going, but you know that so long as you spread your wings, the winds will carry you."
When asked about the Selfie Pic above, RV quipped "It was taken at one of the waterfront pagodas in Silk Island in Mekong River off Phnom Penh in Cambodia. Though only five minutes by boat, the bucolic vibe of Silk Island is a stark contrast to the bustling Phnom Penh City. Ideal place for biking and to see up close the way of life of the Khmer people".

Cambodia is a lovely place with warm and honest people. RV must have experienced that.
ReplyDeleteCambodia is truly a wonderful experience. While most infrastructures outside of the capital city leave a lot to be desired, the historical landmarks and yes, its people make the experience worthwhile! Cheers!
DeleteI agree. Cambodia, the Siem Reap side at least, has got some of the warmest people around. Khmer are friendly and accommodating people.
